I left a winner, though, so I can't complain. As nice as it is, there is no magic spark that sets it apart from other first-class properties and I don't like the fact that the only people who can play there are foreigners. ( I think that's hogwash but that's for the Singaporeans to decide, not me.) From appearance alone, one would suspect that I'd give this casino five stars, but I just can't. But, only persons who do not live in Singapore may use the casino, which makes for a moderately cumbersome check in process while "protecting" Singaporeans from what some would perceive as a corrupting influence. Service levels appear to be high throughout the property. The casino is beautiful, hums during the day with business and, I suspect, absolutely roars in the evenings and on weekends. Thus, I had more than a passing interest in seeing the Resort World property. Before retirement I was a professor of casino gaming management and I had had some minor involvement in a response to Singapore's RFP for a casino/full development of Sentosa Island (which had been the site of Japanese atrocities in World War II and was in sore need of redevelopment by the early 2000's).
